In Electrical Safety Part I we discussed the forces in an electrical circuit, load calculations and the systems designed to protect property and people, overcurrent protection, grounding and ground fault circuit interrupters.
In this module, we look at practical situations in which electrical hazards exist: shooting around high-voltage power lines, working with faulty and improper equipment and employing proper unsafe practices when using electrical equipment.  We will review different types of cords and receptacles, their capacity and limitations, cite relevant code regulations, and discuss the job of the Authority Having Jurisdiction.  We will discuss what to do in case of electrical shocks and electrical fires and identify practices that require the special knowledge and experience of a qualified person, and should therefore only be practiced by trained professionals.
